Vision research at Iowa, in one room

Vision research at the University of Iowa happens in psychology labs, eye clinics, engineering groups, driving simulators, and the business school. The people doing it ask related questions, but they often work separately.

The Vision Sciences Association at Iowa is a student organization that brings them together through events and science communication.

More about us

What we do

Events

Talks, panels, and joint events that pair basic vision science with its applications in medicine, technology, and industry.

Science communication

Members write articles and produce short videos that explain vision research to people outside the lab.

Community

Undergraduates, graduate students, postdocs, and faculty from different departments meet, share work, and find collaborators.

Every field that studies seeing

Neuroscience, attention, memory, eye movements, perceptual decision making, perception and psychophysics, human factors, computer vision, AR and VR, ophthalmology, and optometry. If it involves seeing, we are interested.
